Streaking/Seepage, Page One

These may be evidence of water on Mars, and with the promise of water, perhaps the promise of life. Similar images showing "weeping" streaks or possible water seepage were displayed by MSSS as possible evidence of recent water on Mars http://mars.jpl.nasa.gov/mgs/msss/camera/images/june2000/index.html. Other ideas suggest some of these signs of water are related to the many objects in images which give the suggestion of man-made pipes, such as Enterprise Mission's premise of an ancient Martian "plumbing" network, or maybe even remains of irrigation still active in places on the Martian surface. Some of these images, however, give the suggestion of being perhaps something quite different than water, constituting an anomaly in and of itself. Note that these particular clips are taken "as-is" from their soruce images from the MGS mission and have not been processed. In a number of these cases, the incidence of seepage is far more extensive than what is shown in the sample clips. Much more extensive studies of seepage in MGS images have been done by Efrain Palermo & colleagues, by Jeff Paris of IMRG, and a tentative table of Efrain's data has been attempted by Chronos.
