The heat in California has let up a bit. What a weird week.

On Saturday, the rain clouds were separated, so that driving on the highway created the sensation of driving between columns of water. You could see the grey rain streaks coming down to the ground, making the clouds look like tornadoes. That was weird! I drove through one of those, and boy! It was scary. The rain was coming down so hard that it bent the trees down over the freeway, causing a jam. I immediately thought of Texas. Then, I drove out of it, and it was over. All the while the heat was in triple digits.

On Sunday, I drove on a bit, now going East, and saw in front of me another area coming down on the freeway. When I went through this area, there was no rain! But it immediately became icy cold, a sleety feeling. The wind, which normally blows North/South in this area, was blowing East to West. Weird.

I get out of the car on both days, and the wind was blowing so hot and strong that it was like opening an oven door. Unbelievable. But my friend described a downpour of hail from one of these clouds, where the temperature dropped really low. So, in one spot it was unbelievably hot, and in another spot, it was unbelievably cold.

I have never seen anything like this before. It was so dramatic, seeing those clouds reaching down to the ground looking like tornadoes. And there were a lot of them, for miles! There's nothing like seeing an ominous, huge black cloud shaped like a tornado coming over the mountains at you.

Well, I am going to take advantage of the slack in the heat. When it gets to 105, 107, 109...all you can do is melt. Wake up at 3 a.m. and it's in the 80's in the house...what nonsense is this...

I know all of you guys are dealing with weather. A lot of you have been through some life threatening situations. I think it is worthwhile to talk about the changes and new things that are going on in our world. I'll be honest, I have been thinking of building a new age bomb/weather shelter.
