1. What Happened to the messages?
There seems to be an issues with the server, the script and the settings. From time to time settings have been changed by the server and this causes the messages to disappear from the index page. They aren't lost just invisible. To correct this problem I have placed a hotlink on the index page of each board which says Rebuild the Index. Clicking this link will restore the current messages.

2 Can I use HTML code in the message body?
Yes Standard HTML coding is enabled in the message body, if you are having difficulty with getting your code to work please email one of the moderators listed on the index page.

3. How do I create a Hot Link?
The program makes this very easy, simply copy and paste a URL into the message body and it will be automatically recognized as such and when the message is posted it will become a hot link. You can also go about it the hard way and use HTML code. There is also an option to place the URL in a box on the message box page but you must use both boxes provided, one is for the link the other is to give the link a name, or just paste the link as the name or title but both boxes must be used.

7. How do I delete a message?
When you write your message there are a set of boxes beneath the message box for including URLs and images, there is also a place to enter your email and a password. The password function will allow you to delete your own message at any time after it is posted. Simple click on the message from the index page and enter the password as instructed.

8. What does it mean to (Un)Subscribe?
This option allows you to enter you email address into the database, once that is done you will then receive in your email every post that is made to the board. This will enable you to read new posts and responses to your messages without accessing the board itself. This is much easier to do and saves quite a lot of time in that you don't have to wait for every message to load on the screen.

9. Can I change the way the message list is viewed?
The Set Preferences option will allow you to change the way the board is viewed and the messages are displayed. Try the different options until you find the one that suits your tastes.

10. How can I search the current set of messages?
There is a search option at the top of the message index, clicking this link will enable you to enter various criteria for your search. This search is confined to the current set of messages displayed on the index page.

11. How can search for archived messages?
The Archive link will take you to a search page similar to the current index search page. Enter your criteria to search the database. This database does not display in it's entirety, rather you must enter some criteria to bring up any messages. If you want to display all the message in the archive data base then simply set the date range from the oldest message available to whatever is the current date.

12. How do I get notice of replies to my messages?
Simply fill out the email address box and check the radio box that offers to send you notice of responses in your email on the message posting page. You only need to do this once as the program is setup to remember who you are.

13. Peer review as it is used at AH.com refers more to the total process that occurs when a poster brings an image to the board, others respond to that image with comments and further processing of their own which supports the concept presented and can also offer new and different perspectives to the same image. Other areas of the image might also be examined and new discoveries brought forward. Therefore peer review would be accomplished in that the image will be shown to contain anomalies.

14. Registration is required in order to post to the Anomalous Boards. This only has to be done once for all the boards. Select Create Profile near the top of the page on any board and follow the instructions. A password will be sent via email. Once you have the password you can then go into edit profile and change the PW to something more familiar for your use. If you have problems email the moderator.

15. In order to facilitate a peer review of anomalies it is suggested that posted images include the original image number, a link to the full image at its original database. (Please try not to include the full image in the post as dial-up connections will never be able to view these large images). A description of the cropped images location within the context image. This is the tricky part since the original strips are often quite long and many have tried different methods to describe cropped image locations. My best suggestion is to use a very small version of the full strip (less thank 200kb) with a call-out box of the crops location. Any other method is perfectly acceptable as long as it gets the job done.
